ALUMNI-VNCA

VINCA (Ex-Students' Association)

Alumni is a formal forum to facilitate interaction between the ex-students and the college as well as interaction amongst ex-students themselves. The Alumni plays a special role in the Training and Placement Cell in procuring better job opportunities for the students. The Alumni also organizes various activities for the ex-students.

On the occasion of the Annual Day Celebrations (29 January 2011), Chairman and Provincial, Fr. Bertram Rozario SJ launched the Alumni with the name VINCA in the presence of Manager, Fr. James Selvaraj SJ and Principal, Dr. Anil Adsule. With the efforts of the College and the Alumni, the constitution was drafted and sent for Registration. On 24 May 2012, our Alumni was Officially Registered under the name 'St. Vincent College of Commerce Alumni', the abbreviation for the same is 'VINCA'.

Instituted in the academic year 2014-15 1) VINCA Women Award - Excellence in Sports (Trophy with Cash Prize of Rs. 2000) This award is for any girl student excelling in sports

2) VINCA Women Award - Excellence in Academics (Trophy with Cash Prize of Rs. 2000) This award is for any girl student excelling in academics

3) Mrs. Ruth Penkar Award - All-Round Excellence (Trophy with Cash Prize of Rs. 2000) This award is for any girl student excelling in all areas. The award has been instituted by Dr. Daniel Penkar.

Membership Registration Process & Guidelines
NOTE: the eligibility norms and the present membership fees are as follows:
1. The applicant should have completed at least one continuous academic year as a student on the rolls of the alma mater and should have completed 15 years of age. Members who are over sixty years of age or priests or other clergies are exempt from paying membership fees. They have to complete the membership form in all other respect. All members will enjoy the same facilities. In addition to the eligibility as ordinary members, admission as a Patron Member will be determined by the Executive Committee as per its norms.

MEMBERSHIP
There shall be following classes of members:
1. Life Members
2. Associate Members
3. Honorary Members
1. a) Life Member: A Life Member is one who is a Past student of St. Vincent College of Commerce and pays a stipulated non-refundable sum as a contribution to the permanent fund of the Association as decided by the Governing Body from time to time.
The eligible person would apply for membership; the Governing Body would approve this application, which is vested with the right to accept or not to accept it without quoting any reasons thereof.
1. b) Associate Member: An Associate Member shall be such an individual, who is/ was a staff of St. Vincent College of Commerce, who pays a stipulated non-refundable sum as a contribution to the permanent fund of the Association as decided by the Governing Body from time to time.
1. c) Honorary Member: The Association by the resolution of the Governing Body may cite Honorary Membership to an outstanding faculty or any other outstanding person, who, otherwise cannot be enrolled as a member. The Governing Body could make the citation to such persons.
Honorary Member has no voting rights nor can hold any post of the office bearer.
The right of acceptance or dismissal of an application for membership in all the categories as mentioned above shall vest with the Governing Body.
A member shall be entitled to attend, and vote (except Honorary Member) at all General Meetings of the VINCA and shall be entitled to receive copies of the reports of the VINCA.

Termination of Membership
The membership of the member shall be terminated either:
1. Resignation of the member from membership, or
2. death of the member, or
iii. by a member's expulsion, by at least two-thirds of the members of the General Body of the Association at its meeting, if in its opinion such member has either by his conduct, writing, expression or any other act has harmed the interests or reputation of the Association or St. Vincent College of Commerce, provided however that such member has been given proper and sufficient opportunity to defend his cause in person.

On termination of membership, all rights, and privileges of a member or of his heirs, nominees, or beneficiaries, through such member, with respect to the Association's funds, resources, activities and other interests shall stand extinguished immediately.

The Association reserves the right to recover any dues, assets, cost of damages or other rights from such member, or any of his heirs, nominees, or beneficiaries in any manner whatsoever.
